What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fiber-Cable Technician position at Contract Cable Installer?
We are a contract partner for Spectrum in the Decatur, AL area.
Experience is required for this position to be considered. Also, you must not need training to be considered for this position. You must also have your own vehicle that can carry a 28' extension ladder along with all the materials needed to do the job.
$1000 SIGN ON BONUS FOR EXPERIENCED TECHS WITH VEHICLES ONLY. PAID OUT AS FOLLOWS: $500 AFTER 30 DAYS OF PRODUCTION, $500 AFTER 60 DAYS OF PRODUCTION.
You do need experience to be considered for this position.
Shifts will be discussed during the interview process.
Summary Installs, terminates, tests, and troubleshoots communications cable systems by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be
assigned.
- Coax and fiber work
- Pulls cables, such as coaxial, twisted pair, and other cable types, through conduit, above ceilings, through crawl spaces, and between floors.
- Installs modular connectors for data and telephone users.
- Uses cable testing equipment to troubleshoot problems.
- Provides new users and existing users with cable and modular connections, and relocates cable connections for existing users.
- Installs user-end equipment, such as set top boxes, cable modems, routers, and telephony equipment
Eligibility Requirements
- Clean background check, with no felony ever and no misdemeanor within 5 years. No open warrants.
- Clean driving record
- Truck, van, or SUV in good working condition to work out of.
- Valid vehicle insurance and driver’s license.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug tests while employed.
