Job Description
Job Title: Trailer Maintenance Manager
Department: Operations
Reports to: SVP, Maintenance
Purpose: Works with the Sr. VP of Maintenance and other members of the management team to build and administer maintenance and operations.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Oversight of Service department supervising the National Service Associate staff
· Ensures standards for trailer fleet service quality, equipment readiness, and team performance are maintained and that cost-effective technology is utilized.
· Ensures the maintenance records for fleet are accurate and up-to-date.
· Develops, monitors, and reports on operating costs within functional areas.
· Reviews ongoing performance results to targets and takes corrective measures with authorization.
· Approves vendor invoices.
· Advises on issues including invoicing, client management and negotiates service agreements.
· Participates in daily, weekly, monthly and annual planning process as appropriate.
· Controls expenses effectively.
· Prepares management reporting as required.
· Other related tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- 5 years Fleet and service experience plus 2 years management experience required.
- Proficiency in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet.
- Excellent time management, organization and communications skills; oral, written and telephone.
- Ability to complete multiple tasks and manage a high volume of work.
- Ability to develop long term plans and programs.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Well organized and self-directed.
Education: High School Diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Physical Demands Work Environment:
· Regularly requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, climbing, balance, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling or other mechanically related physical demands.
· Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
