Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Weld Quality Inspector to join our team at CM Truck Beds. As a Weld Quality Inspector for our truck bed manufacturing company, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in our products. Your primary responsibility will be to inspect, test, and verify the quality of the welds as they come off each weld line, helping us deliver exceptional products to our customers.
Key Accountabilities
- Inspection and Testing:
- Conduct thorough visual inspections of truck beds at various stages of the manufacturing process.
- Utilize measurement tools and equipment to verify critical dimensions and specifications, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings and industry standards.
- Conduct functional tests and performance evaluations to confirm proper operation and safety features.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of inspection results, including detailed reports, photographs, and test data.
- Communicate any deviations, defects, or non-conformities to the appropriate personnel for corrective action.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and implement preventive measures.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure that all truck beds meet relevant quality and safety standards, codes, and regulations.
- Keep abreast of industry best practices and emerging quality control trends, recommending improvements to existing processes and procedures.
- Assist in training new team members on quality control procedures and standards.
- Calibration and Maintenance
- Regularly calibrate and maintain inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or concerns to the supervisor for prompt resolution.
- Training and Development:
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs to enhance inspection skills and knowledge.
- Assist in training new team members on quality control procedures and standards.
Work Environment

Limited control of heat and cooling, hot in the summers and cold in the winters.
- Loud industrial environment.
- Walking, standing, kneeling, bending are required up to 90% of the workday
- Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 25 pounds, up to 20% of the workday.
Work Hours

This is a full-time position. Work week is Monday through Thursday, 10-hour shifts. Fridays will be required when production demand requires overtime.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification in quality control or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as a quality control inspector in a manufacturing environment, preferably in metal fabrication or welding.
- Proficiency in using measurement tools, inspection equipment, and non-destructive testing methods.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality products.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and ISO standards is desirable.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation
