Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer/Project Manager to lead and manage land development and infrastructure projects across the United States. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the planning, design, entitlement, and construction of various projects while ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. This role offers the flexibility to work from our Grand Rapids or Scottsdale office or remotely in our Idaho and Northern Arizona markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects, including land/site development, roads, water supply systems, sewer collection systems, and drainage systems.
- Prepare and review project proposals, contracts, budgets, schedules, specifications, drawings, and reports.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Manage and mitigate project risks, address issues, and oversee changes and conflicts.
- Monitor project progress, quality, and performance, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with design drawings and provide technical support to field staff and contractors.
- Lead, mentor, and support project team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing work environment.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes, methods, and tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in civil engineering and project management, preferably in land development.
- Proven ability to deliver large-scale, complex projects on time and within budget.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and techniques.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, etc.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively in a dynamic work environment.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
