Harness Designer

Location : Sterling Heights, MI

Salary Range : $80K-$90K

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop complex vehicle harness systems using CAD software.
Create and manage 2D / 3D harness drawings, including revision history and configuration management.
Analyze and derive harness requirements to meet customer needs.
Conduct trade studies and provide solutions for system integration challenges.
Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure project success.
Troubleshoot manufacturing and quality issues and provide design updates.
Apply ASME and GD&T standards to ensure accuracy and consistency in designs.

Minimum Qualifications

Education : Associate degree in Product Design or equivalent experience. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.

Experience : 5 years in harness design, preferably in defense vehicle programs.

Proficiency with CAD tools such as PTC Creo, UG Nx, SolidWorks, or CATIA.

Familiarity with U.S. DoD standards and processes.

Desired Skills

Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities.

Experience in a multi-disciplinary and regulated industry environment.

Practical, hands-on attitude with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
