We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, simulate, analyze, and release mechanical components and subsystems for Military Electro-optical products. The role will involve developing and analyzing component designs and mounting provisions for various devices.

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, simulate, analyze, and release mechanical components and subsystems for Military Electro-optical products. The role will involve developing and analyzing component designs and mounting provisions for various devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Development:
- Design and develop electro-mechanical mechanisms for sighting systems, including precise optical elements and subassemblies.
- Develop various Fire Control sensors, including Hand Controllers, Gyros, Accelerometers, Periscopes, Auxiliary Sights, Muzzle Reference Sensors, and others.
- Simulation & Analysis:
- Simulate various use cases and analyze the physical and functional effects of different inputs on component or subsystem functional output.
- Ensure designs meet vehicle performance requirements, including human factors, safety, environmental, and mine blast requirements.
- Material & Component Selection:
- Conduct material selection and finish analysis for electro-optical system components.
- Design custom components, generate key characteristics, and perform component selection for supplier-purchased parts.
- Project Leadership:
- Lead projects involving analysis, design, drawing mark-ups, tolerance stacks, and engineering changes.
- Participate in integration reviews, fit checks, and provide prototype and production support.
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
- Provide technical support for prototype and production builds, troubleshooting, and lead redesign activities.
- Develop and present design concepts and program status to functional and program management.
- Testing & Evaluation:
- Perform testing and evaluation of electro-optical components in the Electro-Optics Lab.
- Develop concepts for future SEOS hardware based on SME analysis of vehicle-level general requirements.
- Business Development Support:
- Support business development activities, including Independent Research and Development (IRAD) efforts.
- Ensure commonality and cross-leveling of sights and electro-optics hardware across all product lines.
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Advanced Degree highly desired)
- Experience:
- 9 years of relevant experience in sights and electro-optics (Less experience considered with an advanced degree)
- Experience in working on cross-functional projects and in a shop environment
- Experience with military vehicles, heavy vehicle platforms, or industrial applications of electro-optics is desired
- Experience in leading a team of engineers and mentoring junior personnel
- Technical Skills:
- Solid modeling experience with NX and Creo
- Fluency with Teamcenter and Vis Mockup is strongly desired
- Experience with supplier quality management, developing, and auditing test requirements
- Additional Skills:
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills
- Ability to understand customer needs, formulate subsystem and component requirements, and meet expectations
- Ability to travel and work overtime when required
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb into military vehicles
