Summary: A General Shop Manager is responsible for all operational aspects of their shop including staffing the shop to provide quality customer service as well as regularly checking for quality control of products, delegating duties to Assistant Managers and managing their progress, mitigating financial loss of the shop, and overseeing/facilitating training and discipline for all employees.
Compensation:
Estimated pay range of $24-29/hour includes hourly wage, expected tips per hour, plus bonus potential

Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage all aspects of the restaurant's daily operations
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service
- Oversee the hiring, training, and development of staff members
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Implement and enforce company policies and procedures
- Conduct regular performance evaluations for staff members
- Drive shop metrics to achieve optimal shop efficiency
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manages two subordinate supervisors: Assistant Food Manager and Assistant Bar/House Manager; is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees
- Also directly supervises Barista employees (generally 5-10 employees)
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Qualifications:

Skills:
- Strong background in restaurant management with a focus on coffee experience preferred
- Proven ability to effectively supervise and lead a team
- Experience with shift management and scheduling
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, delegation and decision-making skills
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on hospitality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training
Certificates and Licenses:
- Serve Safe Certification (this certification education and testing is provided by the company if you don’t currently have a certification)
