Job Title: Business Systems Analyst
Setting new standards for industrial process automation solutions in the metropolitan New York City tristate area, Control Associates, Inc. is a premier provider of process automation systems & software, valves, measurement solutions, pressure management, and asset reliability. We are looking to hire a Business Systems Analyst, and this role will be based out of our headquarters in Allendale, NJ.
Established in 1933, Control Associates along with its global process automation business partner, Emerson, specializes in supporting the process control equipment and service needs of the following industries: Life Sciences, Natural Gas Distribution & Transmission, HVAC, Power, Chemical, and Downstream Hydrocarbons.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Systems Analyst, (BSA) to Support accelerated improvements with our digital transformation.
This role will be to translate business needs into IT deliverables, ensuring that technology solutions align with organizational and customer goals.
The ideal candidate is a customer facing BSA with exceptional communication skills who also holds a strong background in business analysis, project delivery, SQL, and ERP reporting tools.
Responsibilities:
- Create functional requirements, business process flow documents as well as business process documentation, exclusively through the use of various MS Office tools
- Work with the other business units to document and implement solutions and ensure they align with business goals.
- Identify and document opportunities for process improvements and contribute to those ongoing optimization efforts
- Improve training and operational procedure documentation to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of ongoing projects with our ERP tool, we use IFS.
- Assist in testing and validating new systems and processes to meet business requirements, this includes writing test criteria
- Develop, modify, and maintain PL/SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from relational databases.
- Utilize MS Office based tools including Advances Excel, to document and analyze large data sets.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree required, majors in Engineering, Business Analysis or Technical Writing preferred.
- 2 years of applicable BSA or BA experience required, specifically with expertise in Business Analysis for ERP related projects, IFS experience is highly preferred.
- 2 years experience in developing detailed requirements, both functional and technical, utilizing industry specific technical concepts, principles, and terminology.
- Previous experience in defining and/or providing guidance for business processes is required.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are required.
- Must be able to communicate effectively across various levels of both technical and business teams, with the adaptability and capacity to work in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent written, verbal, and technical communication skills are required.
- The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of our ERP tool, IFS, including the following modules Finance / Accounting, Sales, and Warehouse / Inventory.
- 2 years PL/SQL experience required, must be able to write queries to analyze our Oracle based data.
- Must have MS Office expertise, including Advanced Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams, and Advanced Excel (either V, H, or XLOOKUP). Real-world experience in any reporting, or BI tool such as PowerBI tool is preferred
