Low Voltage Installation Lead (Utah)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regularly work at various new construction and retrofit project sites concentrated along the Wasatch Front but spanning the entire state of Utah.
  • Perform necessary point to point check-out, commissioning, diagnostic, and maintenance procedures on building automation systems, front-end workstations, servers, and DDC Controls.
  • Troubleshoot and repair building automation system panels, including communications equipment, printed circuit boards, power supplies, electrical/electronic controls, sensors, and transducers.
  • Efficiently edit programs for building automation system points such as determining conversion patterns, defining point acronyms, and/or soliciting alarm specifications from operating personnel.
  • Coordinate and manage multiple automation installation projects. Including inter-trade, subcontractor, general contractor and end-user coordination regarding devices, locations, installation requirements and functionality of system components.
  • Review contract documents and reconcile with RFIs, and project correspondence regarding approved additional scope to determine what scope should and should not be executed and confirm with the Project Manager.
  • Supervise subcontractors including prioritizing work to meet intermediate deadlines, authorizing, directing, tracking, and documenting additional work.
  • Implement energy conservation measures by utilizing and/or modifying the existing building automation system features i.e. mathematical computation and environmental controls.
  • Maintain project related documentation including but not limited to commissioning documentation, daily reports, as-builts and status reports.
  • Assist in Junior technician evaluation and training
  • Continuously seek to improve knowledge of required job skills and stay abreast of industry changes.

Physical Requirements:

  • Routine Lifting: Ability to routinely lift and carry objects weighing less than 20 pounds and occasionally carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Working from Heights: This position will require working from ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the installation of building automation systems, including conduit bending, wire pulling, and termination.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes and safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and a history of safe driving practices.
  • Willingness to travel within the state of Utah for project assignments, including overnight stays as needed.

Compensation Range: $28.00 to $37.00 /hour depending on experience
