Responsibilities
- This position is responsible for efficiently designing projects in AutoCad Electrical while meeting project specifications and deadlines. You will work with relay and PLC based control panel designs including; schematics, panel layouts, and bill of materials. Performing design analysis including; fuse sizing, breaker sizing, wire sizing, and short circuit analysis. The AutoCad Designer works closely with Engineering Project Managers.
Education and/or Experience
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution; or equivalent combination of High School Diploma, Technical School or relevant College Courses to the position AND experience using AutoCad Electrical.
- Entry Level Accepted but Three (3) years of related work experience in related field, Preferred.
Language/Communication and Computer Skills
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
- Computer software skills using Microsoft Office Suite, E-Mail, Internet, AutoCAD Electrical.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to interact with customers, vendors, company employees and subcontractors is a must.
- Knowledge of the industrial controls industry, a major plus.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Requirements
- Demonstrate a willingness and ability to learn technical skills and to continue education in the industrial industry.
- Self-motivated and detail oriented.
- Ability to work as a team player and take direction from the Project Manager.
- Stay focused to complete designs in a timely manner.
- Knowledge and experience with specialized tools, test equipment, and basic hand tool skills.
- Background check required - including DMV. (Must have valid drivers license)
- Drug screenings are at random/company discretion for all employees after hire.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and equipment. The typical day is in an office environment.
- The employee may be exposed to wet, humid, heat, or cold conditions, occasionally, when performing services at a customers facility.
- The noise level in the work environment is not usually loud, but in the event it is, ear plugs are provided.
- The AutoCad Designer position is in office at our Pelham location. No work from home.
Position/Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position, and business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. However, longer hours, evenings and weekend work may be required. (This would be given notice in advance, as much as possible)

Rate of pay will be based on skill level.
