What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchaser position at Control Tech?
Job Brief:
Purchasers buy goods, tools, and equipment for the company or for resale to customers. Purchasers’ duties include price evaluations, market assessments, product ordering, record keeping, and tracking of inbound orders.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists the purchasing team with day-to-day tasks.
- Assists in procurement of products for various locations.
- Ensures all supplier, item, and pricing information is accurately complete and maintained on an ongoing basis.
- Addresses member/customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Collaborates with product suppliers and other Control Tech locations to resolve product/purchasing requests.
- Maintains purchasing files (i.e., vendor information, product descriptions, pricing, product images, etc.).
- Supports marketing programs as needed.
- Participates/complies with company safety programs & company policies.
- Other duties as required.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in business administration or commerce, supply chain management, or economics is an asset.
- High School Diploma
- 3 years’ experience is required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong MS Office and data entry skills.
- Detail oriented and can work both in a team environment and independently.
- Knowledgeable in oil and gas products is an asset.
- Strong understanding of business fundamentals, including marketing, finance, and supply chain is an asset.
