What are the responsibilities and job description for the METAL SHOP REP - I position at Controls Center Inc?
The Metal Shop Representative is involved with all elements of fabricating and assembling HVAC sheet metal components used in ductwork assemblies and other applications by our clients. Shop Reps read specifications and drawings and collaborate with clients and the Shop Manager regarding written and verbal instructions related to client orders. The role requires skill with fabrication equipment, focus on safety, and teamwork with other shop members. The Metal Shop Rep will join our mission to “Make the tech in the truck more efficient” and embrace our vision to “Enhance lives through solutions.”
Position Responsibilities:
- Fabricate sheet metal products utilizing metal forming machines and equipment
- Exhibit courteous and helpful behavior towards customers
- Burr parts or material by use of hand tools or power driven equipment
- File sharp corners from sheet metal parts, where necessary, to prevent cracking of parts on operations
- Polish parts or materials to remove scratches, gauges and rough surfaces by hand or power driven equipment
- Prepare accurate daily paperwork when applicable
- Utilize all applicable safety and personal protective equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications:
- Sheet Metal Fabrication experience is preferred
- Ability to prepare, de-burr, buff, grind and finish sheet metal
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication machinery and general equipment set-up
- Ability to read various measuring devices
- Knowledge of safety equipment and procedures related to sheet metal fabrication
- Ability to positively interact with fellow workers and customers
- Ability to read/interpret basic blueprint outlines, engineering sketches and hand drawings as applicable
