POSITION: Laundry Aide
SALARY: $, per hour
REPORTS TO: Supervisor
LOCATION: , Nespelem, WA
BASIC FUNCTIONS OF WORK: Perform the day-to-day activities of the laundry department in accordance with current federal, state, local standards, guideline, and regulations governing the facility. Assure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner. Maintain an adequate supply of linen at all time to meet the needs of the facility residents.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Training
- High school diploma or GED desired of the applicant.
- Must be able to successfully clear a Criminal History Background Inquiry that indicates no felony or conviction/s on the DSHS Secretarys List.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of long-term care setting.
- Knowledge of laundry requirements in a Long-Term Care setting preferred.
- Knowledge of Long-Term Care Laundry practices desired of the applicant.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixing of cleaning compounds, liquids, disinfecting solutions, etc.
- Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 35 pounds to a minimum height of 2 feet and be able to push, pull, Move; and/or carry said weight a minimum of 15 feet.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Maintains work and cleaning schedules.
- Maintains a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive atmosphere in the facility.
- Maintains an adequate amount of laundry/linen supplies sufficient to meet the daily needs of the facilitys residents kept in the laundry/linen closets.
- Follow proper techniques when mixing chemicals, disinfectants, and solutions used for cleaning. Refer to the manufacturers instructions when necessary (MSDSs). Make sure all chemicals are properly stored and locked up when not in use.
- Keep work areas free of hazardous conditions (i.e. spills excess laundry carts, baskets, supplies, equipment, etc.).
- Report all accidents and/or incidents to your supervisor, immediately.
- Keep supervisor informed of supply needs.
- Other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.
TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.
If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State drivers license and be eligible for the Tribes Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
