Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our healthcare team. The FNP will provide primary and preventive care to patients of all ages, managing acute and chronic health conditions, and promoting overall wellness. This role requires a commitment to patient-centered care, strong clinical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, including history taking, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses, prescribing medications, and other treatments as necessary.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans.
- Provide health education and counseling to patients and their families, emphasizing disease prevention and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Perform routine and specialized procedures (e.g., suturing, wound care, immunizations) within the scope of practice.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and integrated care.
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and care planning sessions.
- Refer patients to specialists and other healthcare providers as needed.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
- Document patient interactions, assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care in electronic health records (EHR).
Quality Improvement:
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Stay current with best practices, clinical guidelines, and continuing education opportunities.
Patient Advocacy:
- Advocate for patients’ health and well-being, ensuring access to appropriate services and resources.
- Address patient concerns and ensure that patients receive respectful and empathetic care.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
Licensure:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license and FNP certification in the state of North Dakota.
- Prescriptive authority and DEA registration.
- Required to obtain DOT medical examiner certification within 6 months of hire.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner preferred.
- Experience in primary care, family practice, urgent care, or community health settings is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform tasks requiring physical activity, such as walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to handle a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
