Administrative Dean and Learning Specialist

Beginning August 2025

Position : Middle School Administrative Dean / Learning Specialist

Reports to : Middle School Division Head

FLSA : Exempt, full-time

Salary Range : $80,000 - $120,000, commensurate with education and experience

The MS Administrative Dean / Learning Specialist will join a highly collaborative, innovative, and experienced administration (Dean of Academics, Dean of Students, and Head of Division). The ideal candidate will have demonstrated interest in middle school education, enthusiastic about math, and the ability to relate and communicate effectively and appropriately with middle school female students, faculty, and families.

Requirements :

  • An understanding of the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart, the ability to articulate them, and a commitment to modeling them
  • Masters Degree in Education (Learning Disabilities preferred)
  • Knowledge of Middle School math skills and knowledge of Adolescent Education
  • Five or more years of teaching experience working in schools, administrative experience preferred
  • Knowledge and / or work with special education / learning support programs
  • Ability to work cooperatively and independently as needed
  • Knowledge of, appreciation for, and demonstrated commitment to anti-racist, anti-bias education, multicultural teaching, and culturally responsive pedagogy
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and revising skills
  • Extremely detailed-oriented and strong technology skills
  • Ability to work during the summer (6 week summer, 1 week Christmas, and 1 week Spring Break)

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Teach Math Classes and collaborate with Math Department Chair on curricular goals
  • Preparation, administration, and analysis of ERB standardized testing and communication with families about the results of ERB standardized testing
  • Coordinate and oversee the after-school elective program
  • Onboard and manage substitute teachers in the Middle School; occasionally substitute in classes
  • Submit payroll for substitute teachers and Middle School electives
  • Responsible for sending standardized testing scores and transcripts for students applying out and family requests
  • Collaborate with the MS Head and Deans in onboarding new teachers
  • Plan and facilitate bimonthly new faculty meetings
  • Participate in Middle School Admissions events after school
  • Collaborate with the MS Head in creating a schedule that is reflective of curricular priorities and meets the developmental needs of Middle School students
  • Collaborate with Administrative Assistant on the creation and distribution of faculty and student schedules
  • Collaborate with Middle School Learning Specialists to support skill development for students with learning plans
  • Meet with students in small groups or 1-1 to provide learning support
  • Review and edit materials for families submitted by teachers through our OnSuite system, such as class enrollment and report cards
  • Collaborate with Deans and Middle School Head to maintain organization of the faculty events calendar
  • Collect and check in on summer work teacher requests (number of desks, etc.)
  • Maintain an active role in the Middle School Student activities as an advisor and trip chaparone, including overnight trips
  • Collaborate with the Middle School Head and Deans in other responsibilities as needed
  • Monitor student behavior during lunch duty daily and participate in community events
