Converdia Health Staffing is a locally owned healthcare staffing agency dedicated to matching healthcare professionals with local and national career opportunities. We place various clinicians in travel nurse contracts throughout the US. We also specialize in per diem/PRN work locally.
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Benefits Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing employee benefits programs and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This position requires strong organizational skills, a thorough understanding of benefits administration, and the ability to effectively communicate with employees regarding their benefits options.
Accessibility is key for maintaining relationships with our internal & traveling employees. Therefore, this job is not remote at this time and will require the daily commute to our West Fargo office.
Duties
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and other relevant laws related to employee benefits.
- Conduct employee evaluations to assess satisfaction with benefits offerings and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and submit regulatory reporting as required by federal and state laws.
- Collaborate with HR team members to develop training materials for employees regarding benefits enrollment and utilization.
- Utilize HRIS systems such as Paycom for managing employee data and benefits administration. Prior experience preferred but not required.
- Maintain accurate records of benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees with questions about their benefits, providing clear guidance and support.
- Assist in the development of contracts with benefit providers to ensure competitive offerings.
- Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction.
- Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit claims.
- Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
- Administer COBRA.
- Review and respond to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation. Review monthly unemployment statements.
- Coordinate workers' compensation claims with third-party administrator. Follow up on claims.
- Assist Business Office Manager in obtaining statistics and information in renewal process of any health, life and retirement plans that benefit the company.
- Prepare and set up meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other related incentive programs. Ensure distribution of required employee notices.
- Prepare and maintain weekly employee reports, new-hire and absentee reports.
- Assist Business Office Manager in completing benefits reporting requirements, including ACA
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
- Associate’s degree preferred
- Minimum of two years of experience in employee benefits administration required
- Experience in other areas of human resources is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with healthcare and/or temporary staffing is a plus.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively & timely.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
