Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst Accounting Focus
Location: Downtown Houston (In-Office)
Compensation: Base Salary 20% Bonus
About the Role:
We re looking for a BI Analyst with a strong accounting foundation to bridge the gap between data analytics and financial operations. This role goes beyond traditional BI reporting you ll be embedded in the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, streamlining reconciliations, and supporting corporate/operational accounting teams during month-end close.

Who You ll Work With:
You ll report to the Senior Manager of Business Intelligence and collaborate closely with accounting, finance, and other business units to drive data-driven decision-making.
What You ll Do:
- Own Month-End BI Reporting: Generate and refine Power BI reports to support the accounting team during monthly close.
- Investigate Data Discrepancies: Identify and resolve reporting anomalies to ensure financial accuracy.
- SOX Compliance Support: Prepare detailed quarterly financial statement reconciliation workbooks.
- Develop Custom Reports: Work in OneStream and Power BI to optimize consolidation reporting.
- SQL in Action: Build and enhance SQL views in Snowflake to support data integration and analysis.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Expand BI solutions beyond accounting to support finance and operations.
What You Need to Succeed:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or MIS.
- 2-4 years of experience in BI reporting with an accounting emphasis.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong SQL development skills (Snowflake preferred).
- Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
- Knowledge of SAP and/or OneStream is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, complex formulas).
- Soft Skills:
- Detail-oriented problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments.
- Strong communication skills to translate complex data insights into business-friendly reports.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines independently with minimal supervision.
- Proactive, results-driven mindset with a passion for financial data analytics.
