What You'll Bring
Education & Experience :
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis (Master's degree preferred).
5-7 years of structural engineering experience.
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) and Structural Engineer (S.E.) credentials required.
Technical Skills & Expertise :
Strong knowledge of codes and standards, including ASCE-7, IBC, ACI, AISC, wood, and masonry.
Expertise in structural system design for concrete, steel, and masonry in utilities or building applications.
Proficiency in finite element method (FEM) analysis and structural modeling.
Skilled in Microsoft Office and commercial FEM software; experience with CAD and Revit is a plus.
Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
What You'll Do
Prepare and review structural design calculations for concrete, steel, wood, and masonry structures in both private and public facilities projects.
Develop and review sketches, technical comparisons, and supporting documentation.
Coordinate project assignments with engineers and technicians within the team.
Review shop drawings and submittals, providing recommendations for modifications as needed.
Assist with site visits and contribute to the development of drawings, specifications, and permit applications.
Maintain project documentation, including calculations, reports, and filing records.
Engage with vendors and clients, ensuring smooth communication and project execution.
Support proposal development and strategic planning for the structural engineering group.
