What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contract Specialist position at Convergenz?
The Senior Sourcing & Contracts Specialist will collaborate closely with the Sr. Category Manager and business partners to execute category strategies by managing the sourcing and contracting of category suppliers. This role is responsible for leading sourcing events (RFXs), including supplier RFX development, conducting supplier meetings, and providing subject matter expertise throughout the sourcing process.
You will evaluate supplier proposals, negotiate terms, structure agreements, and oversee contract management for our Data and Information Services categories.
Additionally, you will negotiate and implement new contracts outside of sourcing events, as well as manage statements of work (SOWs) and amendments to existing agreements. Ensuring compliance with vendor risk, diversity, and management requirements will be integral to your role. You will also identify cost-saving opportunities and drive efficiency to meet savings targets.
Qualifications:
- 5–7 years of experience in purchasing, contract negotiation, and supplier management
- 3 years of experience contracting within Data and Information Services or related categories
- Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong negotiation, analytical, decision-making, and relationship management skills
- Experience leading end-to-end sourcing events from initiation to contract execution
- Proven ability to manage the full contract lifecycle, including agreements, SOWs, amendments, and renewals
- Background in supply chain, procurement, contracts, and project management
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of purchasing systems, category management, and strategic sourcing methodologies
