Position Overview:
The Enterprise GIS Team is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented GIS Editor to work in a dynamic production environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and labeling GIS features based on geo-located aerial imagery. This role requires proficiency in editing linear GIS data, with preferred experience in ESRI Network Datasets and Network Analyst tools. Candidates should be skilled in handling various GIS formats, including raster imagery, and capable of learning customized tools to address complex scenarios with precision and clarity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, perform quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), and analyze GIS data.
- Utilize ArcMap for data editing and analysis.
- Communicate effectively with GIS editors to resolve data errors.
- Maintain detailed records and track progress throughout the publication process.
- Adapt quickly to shifting priorities and project requirements.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background:
- Associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in GIS, Geography, Geology, or Environmental Sciences (with an emphasis on GIS).
- Professional Experience:
- Proficiency in GIS editing tools such as ArcGIS Desktop.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Skills and Attributes:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and communicate technical details effectively.
- Experience with raster imagery and customized GIS tools is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
