JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Maintenance Director, the Maintenance Technician performs skilled labor in the maintenance and repair of County grounds and facilities; assigned tasks may be completed with little or no supervision; tasks may be performed indoors and outdoors. Occasionally, ascends / descends ladders, scaffolds, stairs and may work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud machinery. Other duties may be assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- SUPPORT : Provides front-line maintenance for all County owned properties; support, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs for incoming questions and problems related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, landscape, or various building and grounds maintenance issues. Resolve work orders and follow-up on service calls. Provides end user training and support for new and existing systems or equipment. Writes and updates standardized procedures for various Maintenance-related tasks.
- SYSTEMS MAINTENANCE : Installs new equipment or components, both for new systems and as part of regular systems upgrades or repairs. Monitors building (lighting, HVAC, etc.) and grounds (irrigation) systems for continuing functionality and proactively implements updates, replaces equipment etc. to ensure smooth operation of all systems, coordinating with the Maintenance Staff as necessary. Provides support to the Maintenance department on infrastructure installation projects by physical support, recommending equipment purchases, maintaining up-to-date documentation, and other tasks as required.
- INSPECTIONS : Maintains confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network. Assure compliance with state and Federal policies and regulations within all facets of the Department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education / Experience : High school diploma or GED. Knowledge of common grounds and maintenance tools required. Prefer one (1) year building and grounds maintenance or equivalent experience.Language Skills : Ability to read, interpret and write documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to explain complex technical subjects and procedures in oral and written form to customers of varying levels of technical proficiency, both in one-on-one settings and in front of a group.Mathematical Skills : Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Reasoning Ability : Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to track, schedule and prioritize multiple customer requests, department projects and regular maintenance tasks in a consistent and timely manner. Ability to independently assess the status of customer and department needs and act accordingly.Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s) preferred : Knowledge of the Converse County organization, including but not limited to goals, objectives, policies, and procedures; Thorough knowledge and understanding of network operating systems and ability to accurately troubleshoot and resolve complex network and desktop operating systems; In-depth knowledge of IP protocols, addressing schemas, and directory services; In-depth knowledge of tools, standards, methods, best practices, and industry trends in the area of enterprise-wide workstation engineering and automated deployment; In-depth knowledge of project life cycles, resources, and workload planning; In-depth knowledge of corporate networks and servers; Knowledge of using computer technologies to enhance departmental efficiencies and to better reach agency business goals; Knowledge and proficiency of computer languages, technologies and protocols, as well as networked computer system environments and device capabilities; Knowledge and proficiency of the design and maintenance of relational databases, network operating systems and servers, and other technical applications unique to County departments; Ability to facilitate and lead teams of people from different functional areas in work efforts that affect multiple projects; Ability to direct others in problem and technical issue resolution; Ability to work well with teams that may have conflicting ideas and interests, resolve the conflicts, motivate the teams while using respect, courtesy, and tact; Ability to understand and follow applicable policies and regulations, demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, stay up to date on current and emerging technologies.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations : Must possess a valid Wyoming Driver’s License; ability to be insured under the County’s automobile insurance policy coverage; must be at least 18 years of age.This position is subject to satisfactory criminal background check, and drug and alcohol screening.PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, radiation, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The employee is sometimes exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions and vibration.Technical Services Department staff members are on-call 24 / 7 / 365. May work evenings and / or weekends to meet deadlines or solve problems.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.GUIDELINES
