Job Description
The ideal candidate will be a team player with experience working in both the field and office, including project management and estimating.
As an Electrical Estimator, your responsibilities include:
- Assist with analyzing the current Central Ohio construction market for trends and opportunities.
- Create your own sales opportunities, leveraging your industry contacts to provide electrical estimates.
- Understand contract terms, bid requests, proposals, spec books, and blueprints.
- Assist with the completion of individual project bids and proposals.
- Maintain the integrity of our estimating and project management reporting functions.
- Build strong relationships with ownership, operations, sales, service and vendors.
- Collaborate with field & office staff.
- Complete special projects as requested by management
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of commercial electrical estimating
- 5 years of commercial electrical field work, or similar experience
- Previous experience and working knowledge of the current NEC
- Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills
- Able to problem solve and make decisions; keeping clients and employees informed of business decisions
- Able to influence others with the self-confidence to push back when required
- Possess initiative to drive results and to be involved in critical decisions
- Strong analytical skills; creating customer reports and highlighting key data
- Experience automating processes for efficiency
- A Bachelor's degree in construction management or electrical engineering a plus
- Experience and understanding of electrical estimating software, specifically Accubid
- CAD/BIM experience a plus
- Experience with an ERP system a plus
