What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activities Assistant- Junior Camp for international teenagers-Berkeley position at Converse International School of Languages?
Overview:
We are seeking a energetic Activity Assistants to join our summer team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working teenagers and providing engaging activities. The Activities Assistants will work directly under the supervision of the Junior Program Manager and the Activities Coordinator. The Activities Assistant will be responsible for the successful implementation of the Activities Program, which include afternoon/ evening activities, all-day excursions, weekend activities and airport meet and greets.
Date of Program (June 29-Aug 10 2025)
The general responsibilities of the Activities Assistant include all but are not limited to the following:
- Report directly to the Activities Coordinator
- Project a professional image representative of CISL
- Review and confirm weekly activities calendar with Coordinators
- Keep accurate records of students participating in each activity
- Maintain a professional working relationship with students, group leaders and CISL staff, as well as with University staff
- When leading activities with groups of students, maintain control of students’ participation in the activities, in cooperation with group leaders, making sure that the students are always safe and properly behaved
- Meet and Greet airport pick-ups (no car needed)
- Take photos of students participating in daily activities
Preferred QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience working with youth, particularly teens
- Proven experience working with international students
- Proven strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to communicate effectively in one-one and group settings.
- Ability to lead and supervise a group of people and facilitate group discussions.
- Demonstrated experience working cooperatively as part of a team.
- Expected to adopt the goals of maintaining a safe and secure living/learning environment.

PAY: $19/hour
TENTATIVE SCHEDULE:
- 5-6 days per week, ~20-40 hours/week
