Description
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating packaging machines and equipment to meet the production goal established in a safe way complying with all company safety policies and ensuring that all products manufactured meet customer specifications and achieve superior quality and performance standards.
- Operate rewinders, perform quality checks, package and label finished work product.
- Read and comprehend production schedule, work orders, manuals, and performance specifications, to establish proper operation of packaging equipment.
- Ensure finished product meet the specifications established by Quality and the Production departments.
- Maintain housekeeping and safety rules established by the Company and maintain work area clean of obstacles, debris, and loose material.
- Record in log book quality control, production, and/or maintenance issues and/or information related to the operation and/or production on the machine.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality and procedure manuals.
- Strong physical stamina and strength with the ability to lift 25 or more pounds consistently.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds consistently. On occasion, lifting of weight exceeding 25 pounds may be required.
