Data Engineer

OVERVIEW We are seeking a talented and experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines to support our data-driven initiatives. You will collaborate with internal teams to pinpoint and rectify bugs, engage with end users to grasp development and implementation needs, and uphold diverse forms of documentation for seamless cross-functional reference. If you are passionate about data architecture, data modeling, and optimizing data processes, this role is perfect for you. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyzes data from clients, conducts basic testing for validation, and confirms requirements.
• Develops end-to-end processes to capture internal and external metrics for enhanced business value.
• Maintains solution documentation encompassing business rules and data details.
• Designs and builds robust data pipelines for processing large data volumes.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to understand and address data requirements.
• Optimizes data infrastructure and processes for performance and reliability.
• Implements data quality and governance best practices for data integrity.
• Troubleshoots and resolves data-related issues promptly.
• Stays updated on industry trends and data engineering technologies.
• Maintains Jira tasks daily to track progress on assigned work.
• Supports product scrum and processing operations teams by addressing production issues.
• Gathers requirements for future state solutions and automates manual processes.
• Completes one-off requests for client deliverables and works on automating these requests.
• Assists in defect management resolution across the data pipeline and product offerings.
• Applies source control methodologies using tools like git.
• Conducts annual processing updates and maintenance activities for accuracy.
• Conducts / participates in a minimum of the following meetings : code review, release planning, backlog refinement, and daily standup.
• Creates and maintains various forms of release documentation – change controls, release notes, deployment activities log, etc.
• Acts as a subject matter expert in risk adjustment data processing and solution outputs.
• Available for on-call duties on weeknights or weekends as needed by management. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to use and monitor tools such as S3, Athena, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, Quick sight, EMR Studio, Jhub, SSMS, SSIS, and Tableau. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
• BA or BS in data science, computer science, information systems, or other related degrees.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a role responsible for Data Engineering / Production Support.
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience working with healthcare data such as medical claims, pharmacy claims, membership, or provider data.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data modeling tools.
• Experience using Py Spark is a plus.
• Experience working with large datasets.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka is a plus.
• Experience using GitHub, GitLab, or any other version control software.
• Experience with cloud-based data technologies (e.g., AWS and others).
