Responsibilities As a Driver, you will be picking up and transporting patients as directed.
The Driver is dedicated, compassionate, cheerful, and interested in being part of a team that focuses on excellent service to others. Job Functions Contact patients by phone and arrange pick-up time. Transport patients to doctor’s appointments. Stays in contact with Transportation Supervisors via radio due to changes in schedule.
Assist to patients enter and exit vehicle; operates lift gate to facilitate transport of wheelchair patients. Maintain daily log of mileage, number of trips, passengers, and destinations. Check and maintains van daily and ensure that it is mechanically safe and clean. Requirements Professional experience with commercial vehicle as a Driver Basic Computer and Smart Phone/Tablet skills Ability to transport members in a safe, timely and efficient manner, including assisting patients with walkers and maneuvering wheelchairs Good driving record and knowledge of county streets and addresses Ability to work a flexible schedule with hours/shifts, location/hub (for coverage), with the potentials for overtime working weekends and evenings based on business needs Must have basic mechanical skills and ability to inspect vehicles daily to ensure working condition, e.g., fluid levels, seatbelt and safety straps, lights and signals, tires This role is part of Humana's Driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver's license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with at least 100/300/100 limits Be able to pass the pre-employment substance abuse screening, background check, random drug test and Human Performance Evaluation (HPE).
Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Bi-lingual (English/Creole or English/Spanish) language fluency preferred. Professional experience driving commercial/oversized vehicles in passenger or patient transportation (highly desired) Wheelchair-bound and/or patient transportation services experience CPR certification MS Outlook and Word This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana/Senior Bridge's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB. According to Humana’s COVID-19 policy, vaccination and masking is required regardless of vaccination status (with exception for eating and drinking) for associates working in a clinical setting where patients receive care (e.g., pharmacy retail locations, clinics, home care).
The policy only requires the primary series alone (first and second vaccine). Boosters are encouraged, but not required. Associates have the option to request an accommodation for medical, religious, or other personal needs. Social Security Conviva, a subsidiary of Humana, values personal identity protection.
