Job Description:
ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Strategic People Partner (HRBP) will report to the Director of People Operations and have a deep understanding of the business in order to build the organization of the future. They will then customize and align people plans in order to meet business goals. People planning will involve all elements within the people function inclusive of recruiting, talent management, learning and development, total rewards, onboarding, ER, etc. Our successful Strategic People Partner will excel in influential communications, collaborating with cross functions, and a natural at building authentic relationships. This position will be based in the New York Metro area, with potential support to our employee populations in the Philadelphia, Florida and Connecticut markets, with occasional travel required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Partnership (20%)
- Partner and collaborate with your business unit stakeholders in order to translate business issues / goals into people strategies for short / medium term solutions.
- Apply critical thinking and problem solving skills to complex situations, requiring you to customize and tailor more traditional people practices.
- Continuously connect the dots between business issues / solutions to various levers within the people function (e.g. recruiting, compensation, L&D, talent management, people operations, compliance).
Workforce Planning (20%)
- Maintain real time insights into the performance of the employee population and plan accordingly.
- Understand where capability strengths flourish and strategize methods to capitalize on them.
Employee Relations (20%)
- Anticipate ER issues and identify themes and trends. Recommend solutions to eliminate or greatly reduce frequency of ER issues in the future.
- Handle ER issues in a timely manner and de-escalate as necessary. Partner with relevant stakeholders depending on the severity of the issue.
Performance & Compensation Cycles (15%)
- Performance Management - Manage / Lead performance management cycles for your respective employee population and customize as necessary.
- Compensation / Merit / Bonus - Manage / Lead compensation / merit / bonus cycles for your respective employee population and customize as necessary.
Project Management (10%)
- Manage and lead small / medium size projects while applying project management practices related to: timelines, scoping, stakeholder management, budget, Gantt charts, etc.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders frequently in order to maintain ongoing alignment.
People Operations / Processes (10%)
- Manage relevant administrative processes as needed. Proactively seek out methods to handle administrative tasks efficiently.
Organization Design / Change Management / Communications (5%)
- Proactively propose team structure adjustments for the future state addressing long term business needs.
- Identify skills gaps and capability requirements as the business evolves. Plan out next steps in order to make the solutions come to life.
REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 6 - 8 years of experience supporting large hourly employee populations
- Multi-unit- Restaurant / Hospitality / Retail / Warehouse industry experience is preferred
- Prior experience building and implementing a performance management process
- Strong communications / navigation skills at all levels of an organization inclusive of executives and entry level employees
- Experience or working knowledge of a startup environment
- Ability to thrive in a nimble and flexible environment

The annualized salary for this position, plus a bonus, is: $100,000 - $120,000
