Ministry Function
A Filmmaker is part director, part producer, and part editor. This individual will serve and support all departments of the ministry by shooting, editing, and creating videos — ensuring all media content aligns with brand standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Holds responsibility for trip planning, pre-production, scripting, storyboarding, set building, shooting (on the field and in the studio), audio mixing, editing, graphics creation, and production of final deliverables.
- Works with Coordinating Producer and other team leaders on media projects, including photo shoots, film shoots, video graphics projects, Photoshop projects, duplication projects, and more.
- Manages, organizes, and processes photos and footage post-shoot, establishing good working knowledge of archives.
- Keeps all video and photo equipment organized, in good repair, and updated within industry standards.
- Lends creative and visionary input to other team projects.
- Completes other projects as assigned by the Coordinating Producer.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred, and a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Five or more years of experience is preferred (three years required) working in video production with an emphasis on experience in shooting and editing, preferably with decision-making responsibilities.
- Possesses advanced knowledge of computer editing software, such as After Effects, Premiere Pro, Audition, Photoshop, and Bridge. Possesses advanced knowledge of Macintosh computer systems.
- Displays good analytical abilities in a media-production environment. Works effectively with the Coordinating Producer to enhance Convoy’s media production quality.
- Demonstrates the ability to shoot, produce, direct, and edit video projects without immediate supervision.
- Exhibits a solid working knowledge of video production.
- Displays good interpersonal skills, and can interact and get along with various types of people in a positive work environment.
- Positively contributes to team projects and works with other team members.
- Demonstrates a willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally on short notice.
- Possesses a valid driver’s license and method of transportation for pickup and deliveries.
- Attends and actively participates in Convoy of Hope At Home Week meetings and activities as a required responsibility to the organization and fellow team members.
- Serves as an advocate for the ministry, striving to nurture, broaden, and develop financial and other resource opportunities to support and expand organizational and program ministry.
- Positively represents the ministry of Convoy of Hope, including its mission statement and core values, to all outside constituencies.
- As a Christian organization, Convoy of Hope believes it is critical that team members embrace the organization’s religious purposes for which it exists, and not only agree with its Statement of Faith but demonstrate it in their lives on an ongoing basis.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position may supervise freelancers and interns as needed.
