POSITION SUMMARY :
Join a high-performing Emergency Medicine team offering exceptional growth opportunities. Conway Emergency Group and Conway Medical Center are expanding their emergency care services to meet increasing patient demand.
To support this expansion, CMC will launch two new state-of-the-art Free-Standing Emergency Departments (FSEDs) :
- A 12-bed FSED opening in August 2026 (corner of Hwy 22 / Hwy 90).
- An 8-bed FSED at Health Plaza South in Socastee, expected to open in late 2026.
This is a unique opportunity for Emergency Medicine Physicians to contribute to a community-focused, innovative healthcare environment in one of the fastest-growing counties in the U.S.
Physicians will be onboarded in Summer 2026 as the Free-Standing Emergency Departments (FSEDs) opens in August 2026.
SCHEDULE & COVERAGE :
Physicians will work 120 hours per month.Daily Staffing : The ED is staffed with 4 physicians and 3 APPs each day.Main ED : 12-hour shifts with 4 physicians / day and APPs covering 10-hour shifts.FSED : 12-hour shifts with 2 physicians / day and APP coverage as volume requires.Rotations between the main ED and FSED are expected, though exclusive FSED coverage may be considered.Call Schedule : No call responsibilities are required for this position.Shifts are structured to promote flexibility, ensuring a sustainable work-life balance.

Main ED : 42 beds with dedicated high-acuity, moderate, and less-acute zones.FSED #1 (Opening 2026) : 12 beds with full lab, X-ray, CT, and ultrasound capabilities.FSED #2 (Opening late 2026 / early 2027) : 8 beds with full lab, X-ray, CT, and ultrasound capabilitieswill be attached to our Health Plaza South location in Socastee, which is a multispecialty facility in a growing community.Technology : Cerner EMR with Dragon Dictation for efficient charting.Specialist Access : Closed ICU with intensivist support, surgicalist coverage, and a robust network of specialists.LEVEL OF CARE & TRANSFERS :
Level III Trauma CenterOver 50,000 annual ER visitsLow Transfer Rate : ~2% | Admission Rate : ~25%.Common transfers include neurosurgical cases, advanced orthopedic trauma, transplant patients, and pediatric ICU cases. Transfers are facilitated seamlessly through established call-center protocols with tertiary care facilities.CANDIDATE PARAMETERS :
Board Certified / Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (EM).Open to new residents, experienced physicians, and fellowship-trained candidates (e.g., ultrasound, EMS).Teaching experience is not required. However, residents (family medicine / transition year) and medical students will rotate through the department.COMPENSATION MODEL :
