Job Summary:
The Vascular Technologist (VT) under the supervision of a Physician, provides diagnostic vascular services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures on patients. The VT independently performs diagnostic examinations and therapeutic interventions in all five areas of vascular ultrasound, including peripheral venous, peripheral arterial, extra-cranial and visceral vascular ultrasound. In accordance with policy and the Scope of Practice for the Diagnostic Ultrasound Professional, the VT will perform patient (evaluations); acquire and analyze data obtained using ultrasound and related diagnostic technologies; provide a summary of findings to the physician to aide in patient diagnosis and management; use independent judgement and systematic problem solving methods to produce high quality diagnostic information and optimize patient care.
Qualifications
Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Completion of formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program and registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-S) required.
Experience:
-
Previous Vascular Sonography experience strongly preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
-
Registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in physics and one specialty.

Certified as a Vascular Sonographer (VS) or Certified as Vascular Technologist through (ARDMS or ARRT)

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
