What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pediatric LPN position at Conyers Pediatrics?
Duties:
Busy pediatric practice seeking a licensed LPN. Provides care for the patient under the physician's direction. Includes preparing patient for exams, assisting during treatments, coordinating tests and follow-up care and recording treatment in the medical record. Assists with explaining patient instructions to the patient/family. Demonstrates competency and skills to serve patients of all ages including neonate, infant, child and adolescent. Performs other duties as necessary. Knowledge of VFC/GRITS and pediatric vaccines. Must greet patients and parents. Employee should have a bubbly personality and interact well with patients and coworkers. Must be able to communicate with other departments. EMR experience a must. Current CPR See below daily routine:
- Taking medical histories
- Explaining treatment procedures to patients
- Preparing patients for examinations
- Assisting the physician during examinations
- Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
- Performing basic laboratory tests
- Instructing patients about medication and special diets
- Preparing and administering medications, including by intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections—including vaccinations/immunizations, as directed by a physician or other licensed provider (e.g., a nurse practitioner or physician assistant)
- Transmitting prescription refills as directed
1- 2 year Back Office Experience
Requirements:
- Valid LPN license in the state of Georgia
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as an LPN, preferably with experience working with children
- Knowledge of medical procedures such as cardiac catheterization, spinal taps, and sutures
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
