Summary :
To provide skilled technical care to the pediatric patient in the operating room according to their identified needs. This care includes but is not limited to : performing in the role of Scrub Nurse or First Assistant to the Surgeon and is delivered under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician. These functions are guided by the documented nursing care plan. The responsibilities are primarily directed to technical skills including the use of surgical instruments and equipment. There is close collaboration with other members of the surgical team.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent
Successful completion of a Surgical Technology Program
Certification through NBSTSA or NCCT prior to start of employment.
Current BLS certification recognized by AHA required.
