Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Financial Control IV or designee, provides financial, accounting and administrative services for the Accounts Payable (AP) Division of the Comptroller’s Office. Engages in a variety of tasks related to the review, verification and processing of County wide vendor payments. Verifies transactions are in compliance with County’s financial policies and procedures relative to AP activities. Assumes responsibility for following-up with internal and external customers in an efficient manner. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Sedentary Work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

- Possession of a High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate and five (5) years’ full-time work experience in an accounting or bookkeeping position in a finance department is required.
- OR-
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and three (3) years’ full-time work experience in an accounting or bookkeeping position in a finance department is required.
- OR-
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and one (1) year full-time work experience in an accounting or bookkeeping position in a finance department is required.
- One (1) year of experience utilizing financial ERP systems is required.
- Experience utilizing Oracle EBS Financial ERP system.
- Degrees awarded outside of the United States with the exception of those awarded in one of the United States territories and Canada, must be credentialed by the World Education Services (WES), Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or a National Association of Credential Evaluation (NACES) member organization.
- General knowledge of auditing, budgeting and procurement principles and ability to apply such knowledge to specific AP duties and assignments.
- Knowledge of daily Accounts Payable best practices.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Skill in the review, verification and processing of system wide vendor payments.
- Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate with department heads, staff and external vendors.
- Ability to effectively participate in month-end and fiscal year-end activities.
- Ability to utilizes financial ERP Systems, Oracle EBS, JD Edwards and Microsoft Office Suite to maintain and manage information pertinent to County wide AP process.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and work under multiple weekly, monthly and annual deadlines while coordinating several tasks.
