Job Summary
Perform diverse and complex financial, compliance and operational internal audits of County agencies or businesses, as needed. Supervise and assist during all phases of the audit process including developing the plan, objectives, scope, and procedures. Prepare audit programs to achieve objectives. Complete audits on time and within budget. Responsible for gathering and analyzing sufficient evidence and data to reach a conclusion on the audit objectives. Conduct interviews with County agencies to obtain understandings of internal control structures and document understandings in a clear and concise manner. Prepare audit reports and management letters to communicate the results of each audit performed. Assist and monitor with following up on the implementation of audit recommendations. Communicate results of internal audits to leadership. Conduct regular team meetings, provide job training, and deliver continuous performance feedback. Assists with the annual Countywide risk assessment and the internal audit planning.

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) and IIA International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (IIA) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Thorough knowledge of internal control concepts and procedures and the ability to accurately assess an internal control environment. Skilled in developing audit objectives, audit samples and test procedures. Ability to interact with staff in a professional manner and provide direction to staff when needed. Ability to interact with auditees in resolving difficult audit issues. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding audits and personnel matters. Ability to manage multiple projects effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Visio. Ability to drive to audit locations and work in offsite locations.
Physical Requirements:
Light Work involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job/occupation is rated Light Work when it requires: (1) walking or standing to a significant degree; (2) sitting most of the time while pushing or pulling arm or leg controls; or (3) working at a production rate pace while constantly pushing or pulling materials even though the weight of the materials is negligible.

Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree or higher is required.
- Four (4) years of auditing, finance, compliance, risk control, or directly related experience is required.
- In good standing as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Government Audit Professional (CGAP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Risk Management Assurance (CRMA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), or relevant area is required.
- Two (2) years of prior supervisory experience is required.
- Valid driver's license is required.
