Job Summary

Responsible for advanced troubleshooting of technology and office equipment, repair work, equipment

deployment, application support, and staff training. Receive and track internal Bureau/Department requests for

software updates or technology troubleshooting and provide recommendations for solution. Assist with leading

and facilitating structure across all levels of the organization to deliver valued outcomes to drive business

decisions. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and

constraints. Oversee and manage Bureau/Department field systems staff. Ensure all system interfaces are

operational for consistent reliable data transfer between multi-tiered platforms. Develop and direct software

system testing and validation procedures, programing, and documentation. Assume primary responsibility for

multiple projects as directed.

Typical Job Duties

  • Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and constraints.
  • Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programing, and documentation while conducting on-site diagnosis and repair of computers, laptops, monitors, and peripherals.
  • Oversee and manage Bureau/Department field systems staff.
  • Supervise projects to identify, analyze, and order replacement parts as needed.
  • Train staff to diagnose, troubleshoot, and support relative information software in the Bureau/Department.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree or higher and
  • Four (4) years of experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Analysis, Technology
  • Management, or directly related experience
  • Two (2) years of prior supervisory or lead experience or
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.
  • CompTIA A certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain license and/or certification requirements.
  • This position is considered a safety-sensitive position. Candidates who are selected to fill safety-sensitive positions must pass a required drug test as part of the pre-employment background check process.

  • Degrees awarded outside of the United States with the exception of those awarded in one of the United States territories and Canada, must be credentialed by the World Education Services (WES), Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or a National Association of Credential Evaluation (NACES) member organization.

  • Ability to perform escalated or more highly complex work similar to the work done by staff being supervised.
  • Ability to effectively delegate tasks to staff and collaborate with leadership to achieve organizational or department success.
  • Ability to align team's tasks with departmental procedures and objectives and serve as a reliable resource for other employees in an area of expertise.
  • Knowledge of computer technology, installation and configuration of workstation equipment, and network essentials.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects utilizing best practices based on departmental priorities.

Physical Requirements

Medium Work

Medium Work involves exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently or an amount greater than negligible and up to 10 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
