LOCATION: John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital
DEPARTMENT: Finance/Revenue Cycle
SHIFT: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
This position is exempt from Career Service under the CCH Personnel Rules.
JOB SUMMARY NON-UNION
The Senior Revenue Cycle Analyst manages and monitors large data driven projects across the Cook County Health (CCH) Physician Revenue Services. This position is responsible for supporting the systems and data across the revenue cycle to aid in operations to achieve operating and fiscal goals for CCH.
TYPICAL DUTIES
- Manages and monitors all key performance indicators (KPI's) and supporting data that is produced by the BI reporting team
- Performs analysis to develop and drive narrative development to support project deliverables and presentation content
- Shapes large volumes of data to create reports to identify and interpret revenue trends to share with leadership in various Revenue Cycle departments
- Works with managers and end-users to automate processes between insurance carriers, vendors, and external partners
- Analyzes Revenue Cycle data and works directly with Revenue Cycle Leadership
- Participates in global revenue cycle initiatives and leads processes impacting operations within revenue cycle
- Responds, documents, and implements enhancement requests received from Revenue Cycle Leaders across CCH Physician Revenue Service
- Performs other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is required. (Must provide official transcripts at time of interview)
- Five (5) years of Revenue Cycle experience to include report development, vendor management and data management within a large medical group, hospital and/or healthcare system
- Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Excel and Access (MS Excel and Access testing will be administered, 70% minimum proficiency rate is required)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Finance, Health Administration, or related field from an accredited college or university is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS
- Knowledge of healthcare revenue processes including patient access; charge capture; documentation and coding; billing account receivable; and cash collections. Subject matter expert.
- Knowledge of financial systems
- Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with all levels of staff and a patient population composed of diverse cultures and age groups
- Demonstrate analytical and organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking, and conflict management/resolution skills

Physical and Environmental Demands
This position is functioning within a healthcare environment. The incumbent is responsible for adherence to all hospital and department specific safety requirements. This includes but is not limited to the following policies and procedures: complying with Personal Protective Equipment requirements, hand washing and sanitizing practices, complying with department specific engineering and work practice controls and any other work area safety precautions as specified by hospital wide policy and departmental procedures.
