Salary: $44.643 to $52.540/hr
JOB SUMMARY
Under direction, The Physical Therapist III is primarily responsible for the evaluation and treatment of patients with pelvic floor dysfunction. This position provides patient care to both Pelvic Health and general Physical Therapy in the adult inpatient and outpatient settings at both Central Campus and Provident Hospital. The therapist will provide evaluation and management of patients of all sexes and genders having complex medical conditions, including, but not limited to, urinary/fecal incontinence, dyspareunia, vaginismus, vulvodynia, pelvic organ prolapse, interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome, prostatitis, defecation disorders, management of IBS/IBD, levator ani syndrome, coccydynia, chronic pelvic pain, pudendal neuralgia, pre- and post-prostatectomy, peripartum and post-partum rehab. The primary responsibility of this role will be to meet the needs of the Pelvic Health program in OB/GYN with occasional general PT duties under Rehabilitation Services.
Typical Duties
Performs patient care including: evaluations, treatments, screenings, individual and group therapies, provides durable medical equipment and complete clinical documentation according to departmental procedures and policies. Demonstrates advanced competency in evaluation and treatment skills
Communicates with management, physicians and other health team members and patient's caregivers as necessary
Attends clinics, rounds, meetings and conferences as scheduled. Make recommendations for patient discharge planning
Communicates with physicians and other health care personnel concerning procedures or protocols within the scope of the service
Orients or gives lectures to physicians, nurses, personnel as requested
Meets on a regular basis with management and department administration
Organizes and plans activities of specialized unit. Prioritizes patients as necessary
Orients junior staff and students to the specialized unit. Instructs them in specialized techniques necessary to evaluate and treat patients covered in this service. Reviews competencies completed during rotation
Supervises and evaluates personnel and students rotating through this service. Encourages development of independent thinking and supervisory skills in junior staff
Monitors the quality of patient care in the area
Responsible for care of the environment, equipment, and following any special precautions in the area
Recommends to Director any equipment, supplies, personnel needs. Provides statistical data to justify requests
Recommends, writes and implements programs with guidance
Maintains statistics and performs patient billing according to departmental requirements.
Attends and contributes to interdisciplinary, hospital and departmental meetings
Complies with all department, hospital, and regulatory agency policies, procedures, and guidelines
Assists with durable medical equipment performing stock, inventory, and ordering of supplies based on departmental and patient needs
Assists to keep facility tidy, presentable and clean
Minimum Qualifications
Current licensure in the State of Illinois as a Physical Therapist
Two (2) years post graduate Physical Therapist Clinical Experience
Relevant Pelvic Health Clinical Experience
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
Must be able to travel to work sites throughout the Cook County Health system
Preferred Qualifications
Prior inpatient experience as a clinical intern or licensed therapist
Prior experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Center/Teaching Hospital environment
Board Certified Clinical Specialist
Experience as a clinical instructor of therapy students
Bilingual Spanish
