What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist/Laboratory Assistant position at Cook County North Shore Hospital?
North Shore Health has a Casual position open for a Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist.
Duties include collecting and receiving laboratory specimens, clerical and computer tasks, and also general laboratory responsibilities.
Prior phlebotomy and customer service experience is preferred, however, we are willing to train a good-fit candidate. This is a professional position therefore applicants must be: responsible and reliable, compliant with confidentiality and safety requirements, able to work both independently and as a team, demonstrate integrity throughout all aspects of their job functions, and also meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS)
EXPERIENCE: Prior experience working directly with people/customer service. (Six (6) months phlebotomy or other medical experience)
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent. (Graduated from a NAACLS accredited phlebotomy program)
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: none (Phlebotomy Technician Certification (PBT) from ASCP or equivalent agency.)
Wage range is $20.01 to $27.01 per hour.
