Job Summary:
The learning support coach (LSC) will support the Preschool for All program instructional staff in the development and implementation of a uniform process for the collection and analysis of formative and summative data to inform instruction. The LSC will guide the staff in professional development activities relative to the needs of the program. The LSC will conduct parent education activities to sustain a home and school connection. This position will support and promote the implementation of developmentally appropriate practices for the improvement of teaching and learning for Pre-K students.
Job Duties/Essential Functions:
- Collaborates with Director of Early Childhood and building principal on the implementation of a coaching model.
- Participates in faculty, team, and leadership meetings to ensure implementation of practices are clarified and supported.
- Works closely with all classroom staff to support students with tangible gaps in foundations of development for school success.
- Works individually with staff to provide resources to improve instruction in the classroom in all areas of development.
- Observes classroom instruction and model lessons as needed.
- Collaboratively supports job-embedded professional development for all staff.
- Attends program related professional development trainings.
- Utilizes data and ISBE expectations to facilitate individual reflective conversations with all staff.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid PEL with Early Childhood endorsement;
- Two years of experience working intensely with at-risk young children and families of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds;
- Five years of experience as a preschool teacher with a strong background in facilitating adult learning;
- Strong background in early childhood education with an understanding of the importance of social/emotional skill development;
- Experience working in a collaborative school setting;
- Experience organizing and facilitating parent activities;
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills;
- Ability to work effectively with parents, staff and students;
- Must hold a philosophical orientation consistent with developmentally appropriate educational practices for children ages 3-5;
- Dedication to provide children and their families with support, information, and guidance to make school, family and community work effectively;
- Commitment to supporting at-risk families;
- Ability to speak and write Spanish.
Salary and Benefits:

- Salary is commensurate with education and experience;
- Qualified candidates may be granted up to twenty years of verified full-time teaching experience for credit on the salary schedule;
