Overview
K-Tube Technologies manufactures made to order miniature stainless steel tubing for use in medical, automotive, aerospace, and industrial applications. The Application and Development Engineer is responsible for driving new product and process initiatives from idea creation to Supply Chain stability. They will exhibit a strong balance between entrepreneurial creativity and an Engineering-based approach, grounded in strategy. This position will work cross-functionally to ensure strategic alignment, coordinating and driving innovation with multiple stakeholders both internal (production, engineering and sales/marketing teams) and external (suppliers and customers).
Pay range: 100,000 -110,000/yr.
Responsibilities
Application Engineering
- Builds relationships with Engineering and R&D Departments at the customer's organization.
- Participates in the quotation processes when technical questions arise.
- Confers with engineers, managers, customers, and others to provide application recommendations based on K-Tube’s capabilities.
- Performs comprehensive customer interactions: tours, responses and product knowledge.
- Creates and presents technical data/content for industry trade events and targeted customer events.
- Interact and communicate with associated departments as necessary to produce cohesive efforts towards accomplishing goals. Reinforce an environment of teamwork and collaboration
Development Engineering
- Engage with the Sales team and senior leadership to develop innovation strategies
- Conducts research to develop new or modified processes, material, products, systems, methods, and/or equipment.
- Recommend and develop new products that position K-Tube for future growth, in partnership with the Engineering and Production teams
- Organize and provide guidance for the Validation and Qualification activities (protocols and reports) for new products/processes
Quality Support
- Completes comprehensive product-related investigations to support customer complaints and CAPAs.
- Analyzes data to determine root cause and to prove correction is effective.
- Interacts with Quality department and customers to complete Process Change Notifications
- Collaborates with customer and K-Tube Quality department on Qualification activities for new products
- Participates in monthly reviews and reports on assigned key processes.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- BS in Engineering, Materials, Mechanical or Manufacturing strongly preferred. Other areas considered with considerable work experience in materials manufacturing.
- Minimum 3 years exempt-level engineering work experience in a Manufacturing environment.
- Preferred: Manufacturing or Engineering experience in metal/stainless steel forming (Tubing, Pipe or Wire Drawing)

- Solid understanding of the structure and properties of metals
- Approachable, inquisitive, and relates well to all kinds of people.
- Able to learn new concepts quickly, adapt to changing environments, and enjoys the challenge of unfamiliar tasks.
- Must have good communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
- Ability to thrive in a fast environment, managing multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Light to moderate physical effort required
- Regularly required to sit or stand, reach and move about the facility
Work environment:
- Work performed in both a manufacturing and office environment
- Travel required to customers’ facilities and trade shows
- Exposure to metals, lubricants, solvents, electrolytes and other hazardous materials
- Professional environment requiring business casual attire
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Safety glasses and safety shoes are required
- Other personal safety equipment required as listed in SDS depending on task may include safety goggles, ear protection, full - face shield, apron, arm guards, rubber boots and gloves

Position Type: Hybrid – typically requires 3 days per week in the office and additional days as necessary
