Overview
This position is a 12-week paid internship located in Bloomington, Spencer, or Ellettsville Indiana. Hybrid status located within 2 hours of Bloomington, IN is preferred. It is offered for a period extending from mid-May through mid-August (exact dates depend on school calendars.) This position includes 401(k) options, an assigned mentor, capstone presentation, and intern events. If working onsite, you will also have access to a fitness center, an onsite cafeteria option, and a one-time housing stipend. All internships provide hands-on experience with meaningful projects in the Medical Device Manufacturing Industry.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities/projects may include:
- Determine growth opportunities for specific products.
- Determine plan for margin growth for specific products
- Develop a strategy on how to counter specific competitors
- Identify market trends requiring Cook to take action to maintain or gain market leadership
- Identify industry partners who may be able to supply some accessories for a distributed-by model
- Evaluate the Portfolio and recommend areas for focus and areas for obsolescence / divestiture
- Gather data using various sytems such as Business Objects, Qlik, meetings, internet research, and medical journal publications
- Software utilized may include MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, Access, Sharepoint, OneDrive), Qlik, Business Objects, Tableau, PowerBI, IOPS, Marketing Project Tracker, WebEx Teams
- Coordinate activities, actions and communications amongst various teams (Health Economists, Customer Experience, R&D engineers, Sales Management, Regional Market Development, Internal Training, Pricing teams, Digital Marketing, etc.)
- Develop knowledge and skills within the medical device industry
- Learn to work in a cross functional environment
- Gain time management and prioritization skills to ensure projects are completed on tim

Qualifications
• All candidates should have an interest in a career in the Life Sciences field, a willingness to take initiative and an ability to work well with others
• Candidates should be students entering their Junior or Senior year the following fall semester or entering graduate school. Candidates who graduate the spring semester before this internship are also eligible
• A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred
• All candidates must provide proof of enrollment (including pre-registration certification for the following fall) for consideration
• Multiple disciplines will be considered (e.g., Marketing, Life Sciences, General Business, and Management)
