JOB DESCRIPTION 

 

 

Job Title:         Facilities Service Technician I

Department:   Administration

Reports To:     Facilities Operations Manager

Supervises:      None

Salary Grade:  N3 (I)

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt

Job Type:         Full-Time, Regular

AKBCU:            No       ICPA: No

 

 

General Functions:

The Facilities Service Technician supports the Facilities Team and is responsible for responding to the day-to-day maintenance needs of CITC’s assets and facilities in the greater Anchorage area and Matanuska Valley, including building related systems and grounds.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

Facilities Service Technician I:

  • Provide responsive and professional customer service to all CITC staff, participants, vendors, and key stakeholders.
  • Complete facilities work tickets as assigned.
  • Assist in the fleet maintenance program for entire CITC fleet. Notify Facilities Operations Manager when vehicles need service/repair.
  • Assist in set up of RCC conference rooms daily for scheduled meetings/events. 
  • Assist the Emergency Response Team, as directed.
  • Perform routine inspections and checks of Life Safety, and building systems.
  • Assist in the daily external and internal mail for CITC departments and affiliates as needed. 
  • Maintain confidentiality according to regulations and procedures.  
  • Performs all related duties as needed and assigned.

 

 

Job Specifications for All Levels: 

  • Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of state and federal background check.
  • Valid Driver’s License and insurable under CITC’s automotive insurance, which requires the driver to be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have current First Aid and CPR certifications or be able to obtain within three months from date of hire.
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds. 
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to organize and prioritize tasks and keep a schedule of daily activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal customer service skills and ability to work with people professionally.
  • Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities at once.
  • Ability to be adaptable, cope with stress, and maintain composure in a fast paced work environment.
  • Ability to communicate with Participants in a calm, compassionate manner.
  • Ability to use hand tools and necessary equipment to complete tasks required for essential job functions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the social, health, educational, training, and cultural needs of the Alaska Native and American Indian community. 
  • Maintain confidentiality of CITC participants and staff following all applicable rules governing confidentiality, HIPPA and CFR 25.

Minimum qualifications:

Facilities Service Technician I:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualifications/certifications.
  • Experience using basic hand tools and performing essential functions.


 

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Business, Project Management, Facilities Management or related field.  Relevant experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Experience working with Alaska Native people, knowledge of their values and belief systems and ability to provide culturally competent services.
