Job Description
Overview
The primary purpose of this position is to provide technical support to our production and manufacturing engineering teams. In addition, drive process improvements to increase manufacturing efficiency and further develop manufacturing activities within our plant.
Responsibilities
- Equipment Development and Qualification
- Define, identify, procure, and qualify new equipment for manufacturing processes and test methods
- Collaborate in a team to execute methods needed for efficient and effective process and test method development
- Technical Documentation and Collaboration
- Generate technical documentation associated with equipment, including schematics, drawings, and user manuals
- Hold equipment design review meetings to agree on feasible solutions
- Vendor Management and Component Integration
- Manage vendors for delivery of build components
- Integrate machined components with off-the-shelf parts to complete the equipment, minimizing spares
- Specification Development and Equipment Programming
- Generate specifications for components required within the equipment, such as PLCs, sensors, and pneumatic actuators
- Program and debug equipment PLCs
- Installation, Maintenance, and Technical Support
- Support installation and maintenance of the equipment
- Assist the New Product Introduction Team in introducing new equipment into manufacturing
- Research and Development
- Research and provide technical support for new automation and control technologies for implementation into new and existing equipment
Qualifications
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required
- Skills and Abilities
- Ability to use machine shop equipment, such as milling machines and lathes
- Knowledge of medical device quality standards and practices or similar regulated industries
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven problem-solving skills and high self-motivation
Work Environment and Requirements
Works under general office environment conditions, utilizing close visual acuity for working with computers and equipment. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and communicate.
