Overview
The Senior Research and Development Engineer is a leading technical contributor tasked with researching complex technical problems and conceiving new medical products and solutions in support of the innovation plans and portfolio goals of the iMRI Division. The Senior Research and Development Engineer is responsible for the evaluation of new opportunities for innovation and portfolio expansion in iMRI R&D.
Responsibilities
PhD in engineering or engineering technology with 2 years relevant experience; or
MS degree in same with 3 years relevant experience; or
BS degree in same with 5 years relevant experience
Practical knowledge of project management principles
Experience Using Analytic Skills And Problem Solving
Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization
Must strictly adhere to safety requirements
Must maintain regular and punctual attendance
Must maintain company quality and quantity standards
Must have effective oral, written and presentation communication skills
Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision
Ability to remain calm and receptive in fast paced situations
Physical Requirements
Works under general office environmental conditions
Sitting for extended periods, utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, equipment, etc.
Personal protective equipment including safety glasses, lab coat and gloves required in many areas associated with this position

Responsibilities
- Contribute technical expertise to research activities in Vascular R&D and across the R&D Ecosystem
- Lead large-scale or multiple projects which may span across other R&D teams and/or Ecosystem with a high degree of independence
- Provide technical and strategic input on managing company intellectual property relevant to areas of work
- Understand unmet clinical, market, technology and business needs through application of technical knowledge
- Formulate value propositions for new opportunities for innovation and portfolio expansion
- Assume responsibility for conducting and coordinating research activities, evaluating findings, and formulating evidence-based conclusions
- Communicate and collaborate effectively within the team and with other departments/functions to evaluate new technologies
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of practices and procedures
- Act as a mentor to other personnel within the team; responsible for delegating and reviewing others' work product as part of a project team
