The part-time Sales Associate is key in delivering outstanding customer service and driving sales at our store. The Sales Associate assists customers with product selection, provides information about promotions and discounts, and ensures the shopping experience is enjoyable and memorable; in addition, this team member is responsible merchandising and performing the tactical function of operating the cash register and Point of Sale (POS) systems.

Responsibilities:
- Welcome customers, respond to questions, and provide outstanding customer service.
- Introduce promotions and opportunities to customers.
- Cross-sell products to increase purchase amounts.
- Respond to customer concerns in a professional manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked store.
- Communicate with other associates and owner regarding inventory needs and/or any issues.
- Assist with in-store merchandising, including window displays.
- Assist with events and promotions, including demonstrations and monthly First Friday events.
- Operate POS system, manage financial transactions, and balance drawer.
- Properly process returns, special orders, and promotional sales.
- Check in and process deliveries, inspect items, and assist with organizing the stockroom.
Requirements:
- Retail sales and/or customer service experience.
- Positive attitude and customer focus.
- Friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to multitask and balance the needs of several customers at once.
- Attention to detail.
- Comfortable with technology: iPad and POS system, SONOS music system, and Internet
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
- Punctuality and accountability.
- Ability to work weekends and a flexible weekday schedule.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
- Must be able to move about inside the store to assist customers and manage inventory.
- Must be able to operate a computer, calculator, and printer.
- Must be able to occasionally ascend/descend stairs to access supplies in loft.
- Must be able to move inventory boxes up to 50 pounds.
