Description

Overview :

Join us and become part of the Cook Family. We are looking for an Infill Specialist to help support our growing business.

Cook Properties is New York State's largest owner and operator of manufactured housing communities. Our portfolio includes 100 manufactured home parks totaling 6,500 pads. We also own and manage 200,000 square feet of commercial, retail, and office space, along with 2,000 self-storage units.

What you'll get to do :

  • As an Infill Specialist, you will;
  • Completing construction related work assigned to you or your team in a timely manner
  • Working in teams to prepare empty lots for new home installations
  • Clearing lots of old homes, trees, brush, old utilities, old pads, and old piers
  • Installing new water lines, sewer lines and electric lines for new homes
  • Installing new gas lines when it pertains
  • Maintain and clean all grounds including picking up trash / getting trash dumpsters ready for pickup
  • Operate and transport heavy equipment and trailers
  • Maintain and repair heavy equipment
  • Repairing utilities for new or used homes
  • Installing or repairing gravel driveways and walkways for new homes
  • Pouring concrete for new home pads or piers
  • Assist when needed with snow plowing in the winter months
  • Tree clean ups and removals, chainsaw operating and heavy equipment operating.
  • Tracking time spent at sites in our property management software
  • Following a preventive maintenance program and performing routine preventive maintenance
  • Tracking and maintaining material and supply inventory
  • Overseeing work performed by outside contractors as necessary
  • Adhering to customer-service standards
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal codes and regulations
  • Ensuring all equipment is in good working order and stored properly
  • Performing regular property walk-throughs to ensure the quality of the community is being upheld
  • Serving as a member of the infill team, fostering a spirit of cooperation and teamwork amongst all departments and communicating effectively with all employees
  • Updating job knowledge and competence by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications
  • Follow job-related safety regulations as prescribed by training guidelines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications : What we seek -

  • Comfortable with outside work 90% of the time in all seasons
  • Day travel amongst several communities
  • All paperwork done via tablet and cell phone
  • High School Diploma, preferred
  • 2 years' experience working in grounds, maintenance or construction
  • Equipment operating and maintenance experience
  • Interested in working in a Property Management company
  • Valid Driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
  • Organization and time-management skills to prioritize tasks and manage timelines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
