Cook Shell Contractors, LLC is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team in Stuart, FL. As a leading shell contractor, we specialize in high-quality residential and commercial construction projects. We are looking for a motivated professional with a strong background in estimating who can contribute to our continued growth and success.

Position Overview :

As a Construction Estimator, you will play a critical role in our pre-construction process by preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates. You will analyze project plans using PlanSwift Program and Cook Shell Excel Estimating Spreadsheet. As well as working closely with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers, and ensure that all estimates align with project goals, budgets, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities :

Project Estimation : Develop detailed cost estimates for residential and commercial shell construction. Including materials, labor, and equipment for all divisions (concrete, masonry, structural steel & framing).
Blueprint & Specification Review : Interpret architectural and engineering drawings to determine project requirements and scope.
Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination : Obtain and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
Budgeting & Cost Control : Prepare project budgets and forecasts, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising quality.
Risk Assessment : Identify potential project risks and develop cost-effective strategies to mitigate them.
Collaboration & Communication : Work closely with project managers, clients, engineers and other stakeholders to ensure a clear and accurate estimating process.
Software & Documentation : PlanSwift Program, Cook Shell Excel Estimating Spreadsheet and maintain organized public records of estimates, bids, and contracts.

Qualifications & Requirements :

Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years in construction estimating, preferably within shell contracting or similar trades (concrete, masonry, structural steel & framing).

Education : A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Technical Skills : Proficiency in estimating software (ex.. PlanSwift, ProEst, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Industry Knowledge : Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, codes, and pricing specific to shell construction.

Attention to Detail : Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for accuracy in estimates and budgeting.

Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.

Time Management : Ability to handle multiple estimates simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
