Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and well-organized Veterinary Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our clients and their beloved pets. In this position, you will be providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our veterinary practice. Duties
- Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Schedule appointments and manage the calendar for the veterinary team.
- Answer phone calls, monitor emails and text messages, responding to inquiries regarding services, medications, and pet care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update client information as needed.
- Obtain previous patient records prior to examinations.
- Process payments and handle billing inquiries with attention to detail.
- Assist with administrative duties, including end of day reports, accounting, filing, and data entry.
- Assist veterinary staff with animal handling, including dog handling and medication administration when required.
- Ensure the front desk and reception area are organized, clean, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Provide information on pet care, animal husbandry, and available services to clients.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians, assistants, and kennel staff to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a front desk role or customer service position is preferred.
- Knowledge of animal handling techniques, including dog handling and basic veterinary practices.
- Familiarity with medication administration is a plus.
- Experience in veterinary critical care or as a veterinary assistant is advantageous.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency with computer systems and appointment scheduling software.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling records and payments.
