What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Handler position at Cookeville Regional Medical Center System?
This position is responsible for assuring that supplies and equipment are efficiently received, stocked, and ultimately delivered to all areas of the hospital and to supervise and coordinate all aspects of the Material Handler function.
High School Diploma or GED required
Additional Certification Details
Drivers License required
Employee required to be competent in the safe and proper operation of tugs for assistance in transporting materials.
Employee required to be certified in the safe and proper operation of Class 3 electronic pallet jack.
Employee required to be certified in the safe and proper operation of Class 4 scissors lift and forklift.
If designated and assigned by director a valid driver’s license would be required which includes:
• No more than 2 Minor Violation or at fault accident in the past 12 mos. or 3 in the past 3 years.
• No major violations I the past 3 years
• No suspended, expired, revoked, or other status indicating the driver is not licensed.
• No inexperienced drivers having less than 3 years operating the vehicle type they are driving.
Additional Experience Requirements
On the job training is provided; however, 12 to 18 months in a similar setting is desired.
