What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist/Specimen Processor- Laboratory position at Cookeville Regional Medical Center System?
The Phlebotomist/Specimen Processor is responsible for performing & documenting phlebotomy procedures, bleeding times; receiving, processing, recording, & distributing specimens; & for performing secretarial duties for the laboratory areas on neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult & geriatric patient specimens to obtain samples for use in laboratory testing in accordance with CRMC & profession standards of practice; maintaining all aspects of quality assurance & improvement; providing rapid & accurate collection of specimens & technical assistance; relaying & documenting information appropriately; & models appropriate behavior as exemplified in the CRMC Mission and Values statement.
Education: High School Diploma / GED Required
Experience: Minimum of 6 months experience phlebotomy is required.
